Radiation Appointment

My relationship with my Radiologist Oncologist is over. He is the first Oncologist I've seen so it was good to have an hour and a half of some Q&A. He has came to the conclusion that I am Stage II and will need full chemotherapy. I will eloborate later. Stage II Seminoma is rare and we would have too large of an area to treat with Radiation. Brandi and I are upset a bit and going to lunch now.

well, yet another bump in the road. keep your spirits just as high as they have been this whole time, and i know everything's going to be ok.chemo is just another option at this point, and it sounds like it is the better one. i think we are ingrained to think the worst when we hear the word "chemotherapy"; but like you and i talked about, modern medicine has come so far. this is just yet another treatment option available to you. keep your head up and i just want you to know how proud i am of you for all your courage and strength. it really does make a difference in your mental and physical health.

Russ,
I am really sorry to hear your latest news, but I know that you can beat this. With your positive attitude and the support of your amazing family and friends, I know you will get through this. Please remember that we are here if you need anything, especially if you want us to watch the kids. Brayden loves to play with Hailey and Evan and I know how nice even an afternoon alone for you and Brandi can be. You and your family will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Stay positive and keep fighting!

I truely believe that a positive attitude can cure anything including minor bumps in our life. You had asked me about my treatments when I talked to you. I did look up my written report as follows. I had 4 cycles of chemo. I had it every two weeks for the four times (2months). It took about 2-3 hours each time. When I went for my 3rd teatment, they discovered I was having a heart problem, so I now take medication for that. After that I had 30 radiation treatments, which was Monday thru Friday (about 6weeks). My cancer was at Stage 4A, and they found 8 of 24 lymph nodes to be positive for cancer. I made it through because of attitude and so will you. It will soon be time to party after all of this is over. You are going through this at about the same time of year as I did, so by summer time it will be fun time.
Thoughts, prayers, and love go to you and your family, and if you need anything including babysitting we are here.
I totally agree with Kristy.
