Radiation

My Radiation Therapy will begin after my first and only chemotherapy cycle which is 3 to 4 weeks. Even though I'm only getting one single dose of Carboplatin, the cycle still last 3 to 4 weeks.

Hi Russ:
Are you having your chemo once every week or once every other week? I am glad you are finally on your way with everything. Will you find out after chemo how many radiation treatments you will have? Keep your great attitude going.

Neither. I am having one single dose of Chemotherapy(Carboplatin)next Tuesday, March 4th.

Dr. Miller says I will be in and out in about an hour and fifteen minutes. I will then be done with my chemotherapy. That one dose will take 3 or 4 weeks to cycle through. Then on to Radiation Therapy for about 3 or 4 weeks.

I said 3 or 4 weeks of Radiation because thats what others in the study did. I have a call into Dr. Logsdon to ask for specifics. You asked a valid question that I should probably know the answer to. I'm at the point where I found two doctors that I trust as much as my dad, so I really don't question them too much, but I'll let you know.

Thanks for everything!

Dr. Logsdon called and said I will have 3.5 weeks of radiation therapy, 5 nights a week.

Thanks for the answers to my questions. Your treatments are much shorter than mine were, and I think that is great. Before I started my radiation, I had to go in for them to put like a tatoo on the area were the radiation would be placed. That makes it easy for the technicians. I got to lay on a table and listen to music while I was having my treatments. The floor under the table went down while the equipment went around my body. It was very interesting. The room was also dim so don't fall asleep.
